About CAPA 2018-01-11T22:34:38+00:00

The Coalition of Airline Pilots Associations (CAPA) is a trade association comprised of over 30,000 professional airline pilots.  CAPA’s mission is to address safety, security, legislative and regulatory issues affecting the professional flight deck crew member on matters of common interest to the individual member unions. We are an advocate for strong safety and security programs that continue to fortify the continuously vulnerable aviation industry.

We work collaboratively and cooperatively with government agencies to reconstruct a more secure operating environment for our passengers and fellow aircrew members within the aviation industry; and industry critical to the economic infrastructure of the United States, affecting nearly 10% of the GDP.

CAPA is well-known in Congress and among the Government Agencies for its collective strength, integrity and responsible approach when addressing issues of common interest for pilots and for the safety of the traveling public.  CAPA is presently focused on a number of key concerns facing the airline industry and the millions who depend on it every day.

The four member associations of CAPA are:

Allied Pilots Association (APA) – American Airlines

Independent Pilots Association (IPA) – UPS Airlines

Teamsters Local 1224 (L1224) – Allegiant Air, Atlas Air, ABX Air, Horizon Air, Cape Air, Kalitta Air, Kalitta Charters II, Miami Air, Omni Air, Silver Airways, and Southern Air
